The Lazy Entrepreneur
A refined launch site for James Frost's forthcoming memoir, The Lazy Entrepreneur, bringing together the book, his story, book readings, a journal and media, all managed through a built-in content management system.
The challenge
James Frost was weeks from launching The Lazy Entrepreneur, his first book, and had nowhere for readers, press or event bookers to go. He needed a site that could carry the weight of a real book launch, cover reveal, author biography, readings and media coverage, without hiring a developer or waiting on a traditional agency timeline. His deadline was fixed to a publication date he could not move, so speed mattered as much as polish.
Context
As a first-time author with an existing audience from his business background, James needed the site to feel credible to publishers and press while remaining simple enough for him to update himself once it was live. He also wanted a journal section so he could publish updates in the run-up to launch day without asking anyone for help each time.
Our approach
VibeStudio worked from a short brief covering the book's themes, James's biography and the assets he already had (cover art, an early excerpt and a handful of endorsements). We designed a clean, editorial layout built around the book itself, then wired in a lightweight content management system so James could add journal entries, upload new photos and update event listings without touching code. The whole build, from first brief to a fully working site, was delivered in 72 hours.
What we built
- A homepage built around the book, its story and pre-order links
- An author biography and press page for media enquiries
- A readings and events section that James updates himself
- A built-in journal so he can publish launch updates on his own schedule
- A lightweight CMS requiring no code knowledge to maintain
The results
The site was live in time for launch with zero developer dependency after handover. James now publishes journal entries and updates event listings himself in minutes, something that would have meant a support ticket and a wait with most agency builds.
I spoke to VibeStudio and they built me the whole website, with a content management system, within 72 hours. I can't recommend them highly enough.
